NPHCDA Gateway

Quality care, closer to you

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) leads the implementation of the Primary Health Care (PHC) revitalization gateway of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF). This gateway is dedicated to ensuring that every Nigerian—especially those in rural and underserved areas—can access essential, affordable, and quality healthcare close to home.

What We Do

Through the NPHCDA gateway, BHCPF provides:

  • Revitalization of PHCs: Upgrading facilities with improved infrastructure, electricity, and water supply.

  • Essential Medicines & Supplies: Equipping PHCs with drugs, vaccines, and diagnostic tools.

  • Health Workforce Support: Recruiting, training, and supporting frontline health workers.

  • Maternal & Child Health Services: Strengthening antenatal, delivery, immunization, and nutrition programs.

  • Community Outreach: Extending health services to hard-to-reach populations through mobile and outreach clinics.

Our Impact

  • 7,000+ PHCs revitalized across all 36 states and the FCT.

  • Millions of women and children benefiting from essential services.

  • Improved maternal and child survival rates in supported communities.

  • Expanded coverage of immunization and nutrition services at the grassroots.

Future Goals

  • Expand PHC revitalization to every ward in Nigeria.

  • Integrate digital health solutions for better service delivery and monitoring.

  • Strengthen community ownership and accountability for PHC services.

Join us in building stronger Primary Health Care Centres that serve every Nigerian family

  • Before the BHCPF, our health centre had no drugs or electricity. Today, we can deliver babies safely, and our children are fully immunized.
